Predeceased by parents: Albert and Martha; sisters: Gertie, Mae, Linda and Lorna; brother: Samuel; parents-in-law: Maxwell and Lorraine Mercer; brother-in-law: Barry. Leaving to mourn, wife: Frances; two daughters: Wendy Burke and Kelly Burke (Glenn Seymour), both of Victoria; one son: Glenn, Victoria; daughter-in-law: Carolyn Burke, Victoria; two grandchildren: Peter and Katie; four brothers: Donald (Ann), Bishops Falls, Gordon (Betty), Gander, Art (Mae), Victoria and Robert (Linda), Gander; sisters-in-law: Sandra Mercer (Gary Dawe), Coley's Point and Donika Mercer, Bay Roberts; brothers-in-law: Paul (Bernice) Mercer, Victoria, Malcolm (Gloria) Mercer, Bay Roberts, William (Gladys) Mercer, Spaniard's Bay and David (Peg) Mercer, St. John's; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear with visitation hours by request of the family on Saturday, December 31 from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, January 1 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Monday, January 2 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Monday, January 2 at 2:00 p.m. from the United Church, Victoria. Interment in the United Cemetery, Victoria.
