LAYMAN, Alice M. - Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family at the Dr. A. A. Wilkinson Memorial Hospital, Old Perlican on Wednesday, December 28, 2011, Alice M. Layman of Gull Island, age 93 years. Predeceased by: husband: Vincent; parents: William Henry and Alice (Sansbury) Vokey; daughter: Anastasia; son: John Joseph; brothers: Bert and Jake; sisters: Susan and Mary; granddaughter: Jaunita; great-grandson: Ryan; sons-in-law: Harvey Parsons and Ronald Hatch. Leaving to mourn, five daughters: Kathleen Hatch, Red Head Cove, Carmel Parsons (Clyde), Ochre Pit Cove, Frances Layman (Hayward), Wesleyville, Gennie Fahey (Val), Gull Island and Sheila Warfield (Dave), Burnt Point; two sons: Ben Layman (Rose), Gull Island and Tom (Heather), Cambridge, ON; son-in-law: Will Joe Doyle, Gull Island; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; special niece: Sylvia; special nephew: Wilson; special buddy: Sue; her loving cat: Angel; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay after 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Funeral Mass to take place on Saturday, December 31 at 2:00 p.m. from Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, Northern Bay. Interment in Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Cemetery, Northern Bay. As an expression of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, Northern Bay. Visitation hours at Noel's Funeral Home are 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. daily.
