WHEELER, G. Leslie - Passed peacefully away at his daughters residence Carbonear on Sunday, February 9, 2014, G. Leslie Wheeler of Lower Island Cove, age 87 years. Predeceased by 1st wife: Daphne, 2nd wife: Louise, parents: Ambrose and Eva, sisters and brothers. Leaving to mourn, three daughters: Doreen (Clyde) Bursey, Lower Island Cove, Christine (Robert) Crummey, Carbonear and Beverly (Aidan) Johnson, Northern Bay; eight grandchildren: Lesley, Renee, Kelly, Kimberley, Robyn, Mitchell, Adrian and Julien; four great-grandchildren: Brooklyn, Benjamin, Nathan and Bennett; special sister: Alice (Melvin) Stockwood, St. John's; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at the Salvation Army Citadel, Lower Island Cove on Monday from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Wednesday, February 12 at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel, Lower Island Cove. Interment in the Salvation Army Cemetery, Lower Island Cove. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Salvation Army Building Fund or SPCA.
