Predeceased by parents: John and Laura; brothers: Harvey and William George; sister: Frances; parents-in-law: George and Janet Penney. Leaving to mourn, wife: Lillian; one daughter: April, Carbonear; one son: Stephen, St. John's; one brother: John (Charlotte), Upper Island Cove; brothers-in-law: Jim (Ada) Penney, Carbonear, Henry (Bernadette) Penney, Cambridge, ON and George (Janice) Penney, Carbonear; sisters-in-law: Nellie Alcock, Carbonear and Drucilla Greeley, Upper Island Cove; good friends: Gerry Earle and Neville Penney, both of Carbonear; also a large number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Thursday from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Saturday, September 1 at 11:00 a.m. from St. James Anglican Church, Carbonear. Interment in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to Daffodil Place, St. John's or Dr. H.
