COLBOURNE, Mary- Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, January 4, 2008, Mary Colbourne of Carbonear, age 94 years. Predeceased by husband: Reuben; sons: Harold, Berkley and Calvin; brothers: Jordan, James, Graham and Thomas; sisters: Hazel, Carrie and Lottie May. Leaving to mourn: five daughters: Carrie (Lawrence) Dicks, Coley's Point, Myrtle (William) Singleton, Tilton, Effie (Gordon) Menchions, Spaniard's Bay, Marilyn Colbourne, Carbonear and Joan Fost, Heart's Delight; one son: John (Judy), Carbonear; daughters-in-law: Ada (Fred) Vaters and Daphne Colbourne, both of Carbonear; seventeen grandchildren: Thomas, Sandra (Alex), Dianne (David), James (Brenda), Mary-Lynn (Raymond), Randy (Sherry), Harold (Marie), Sherry (Bruce), Darlene (Ray), Berkley (Valerie), Blair (Shona), Lorraine (David), Robert (Jennifer), Gina, Laurie (Ian), Brian and Jamie; three step-grandchildren: Velma (Lindsay), Paul (Chancy) and Terry (Catrina); twenty-nine great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters: Dolly (Edward) Clarke, Carbonear and Elizabeth 'Lizzie' (Charles) Moores, Paradise; sisters-in-law: Annie Deering and Gladys Deering, both of Carbonear and Mary Deering, Victoria; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear until 12:00 noon Monday, January 7. Funeral service to take place at 2:00 p.m. from St. James Anglican Church and Cemetery, Carbonear. As an expression of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to St. James Anglican Church, Carbonear.
