DEERING, Sadie I.- Passed peacefully away at the Interfaith Citizen's Home, Carbonear on Tuesday, March 18, 2008, Sadie I. Deering of Freshwater, Carbonear, age 91 years. Predeceased by husband: John; daughters: Gladys and Elsie; sons: John C. and Gideon; parents: Henry and Mary Ellen Hiscock; brothers: Ellis and Clayton; sisters: Hula, Irene and May. Leaving to mourn, six daughters: Margaret (Wayne) Martin, Harbour Grace, Janice (Frederick) Somers, Alberta, Marilyn (Eric) Clarke, Victoria, Cynthia (Derrick) Hiscock, Alberta, Joan (Randy) Slade, Salmon Cove and Elaine (Ted) Butt, Freshwater, Carbonear; five sons: Wilfred (Joan), Freshwater, Carbonear, Melvin (Carol), Ontario, Jerry (Julie), New Harbour, John Jr. 'Jack' (Ada), Freshwater, Carbonear and Gary (Christine), Carbonear; daughter-in-law: Lillian Deering, Freshwater, Carbonear; twenty-seven grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; three sisters: Eva Howley, Mildred Rose and Effie (Bob) Butler, all of Ontario; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear after 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 20 and until 12:00 noon Sunday, March 23. Funeral service Sunday at 2:00 p.m. from the United Church and Cemetery, Freshwater, Carbonear. No flowers by request, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the United Church Cemetery, Freshwater, Carbonear c/o Linda Murphy, P.O. Box 673, Carbonear, NL, A1Y 1C2.
