DEERING, Sadie I.- Passed peacefully away at the Interfaith Citizen's Home, Carbonear on Tuesday, March 18, 2008, Sadie I. Deering of Freshwater, Carbonear, age 91 years. Predeceased by husband: John; daughters: Gladys and Elsie; sons: John C. and Gideon; parents: Henry and Mary Ellen Hiscock; brothers: Ellis and Clayton; sisters: Hula, Irene and May. Leaving to mourn, six daughters: Margaret (Wayne) Martin, Harbour Grace, Janice (Frederick) Somers, Alberta, Marilyn (Eric) Clarke, Victoria, Cynthia (Derrick) Hiscock, Alberta, Joan (Randy) Slade, Salmon Cove and Elaine (Ted) Butt, Freshwater, Carbonear; five sons: Wilfred (Joan), Freshwater, Carbonear, Melvin (Carol), Ontario, Jerry (Julie), New Harbour, John Jr. 'Jack' (Ada), Freshwater, Carbonear and Gary (Christine), Carbonear; daughter-in-law: Lillian Deering, Freshwater, Carbonear; twenty-seven grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; three sisters: Eva Howley, Mildred Rose and Effie (Bob) Butler, all of Ontario; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear after 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 20 and until 12:00 noon Sunday, March 23. Funeral service Sunday at 2:00 p.m. from the United Church and Cemetery, Freshwater, Carbonear.
