ROSE, Samson - Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, March 14, 2014, Samson Rose of Salmon Cove, age 81 years. Predeceased by parents: William and Aseneth; sister: Marjorie; brother: Harold. Leaving to mourn, wife: Carol (nee Spurrell); two daughters: Cheryl Rose (Gene O'Grady), Carbonear and Maryette (Jim) Sheppard, Holyrood; two sons: Darrell (Stephanie), Salmon Cove and Barry (Vanessa), Victoria; eight grandchildren: Samantha (Brad), Kristen (Shane), Cheryl (Cody), Douglas, Madison, Tiffany, Drake and Chloe; one brother: William (Catherine), Carbonear; two sisters: Enid (Roy) Oldford, Port Blandford and Annie Squires, Old Perlican; brother-in-law: Morley (Katie) Button, Old Perlican; sisters-in-law: Florence Rose, Salmon Cove and Beulah Spurrell (Winston Bradbury), Harbour Grace South; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Monday, March 17 at 2:00 p.m. from Riverside United Church, Salmon Cove. Interment in Riverside United Cemetery, Salmon Cove.
