STANFORD, Vera S. - Passed peacefully away at the Pentecostal Seniors Home, Clarke's Beach, on Tuesday, August 27, 2013, Vera S. Stanford of Adam's Cove, age 88 years. Predeceased by husband: Leslie; parents: William Andrew and Patience Thistle; brothers: Frederick, Benjamin and Harold; sisters: Asceneth Cramm, Millicent McCann, Mabel Noseworthy, Jeannie Rawnsley and Bertha Rowe. Leaving to mourn, one son: Harold (Rosalie), Bay Roberts; two daughters: Ruby (Calvin) Taylor, Burton, NB and Sandra (Lester) Butt, Salmon Cove; four grandchildren: Sonya (Gerry) Piercey, Torbay, Catherine 'Cathy' Stanford, Calgary, AB, Shonette (Brian) Lollar, Burton, NB, Michael Taylor, Saint John, NB; four great-grandchildren: Lesley and Sarah Piercey, Mikaela and Damon Lollar; sister-in-law: Angela Thistle, Stephenville; brother-in-law: Charles Rawnsley, Lowell, MA, USA; also a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay on Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.; Thursday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Friday, August 30 at 2:00 p.m. from Ocean View United Church, Broad Cove. Interment in the United Cemetery, Blackhead.
