POWERS, William S.- Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, October 24, 2007, William S. Powers of Salmon Cove, age 102 years. Predeceased by wife: Annie Mae; sisters: Susie Marie Bennett and Mae Marshall; brothers: Frazer and James. Leaving to mourn, brother: Chesley, St. John's; three sisters: Florence Baggs, Carbonear, Myrtle (Dr. George) Kennedy, St. John's and Dorothy Skinner, Worchester, Massachusetts, USA; brother-in-law: Ross Bennett, St. John's; also a large number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear until 12:00 noon Friday, October 26. Funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Riverside United Church, Salmon Cove. Interment in the United Cemetery, Blackhead. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the United Church Cemetery, Blackhead.
